The Light Collection

This collection is the result of finding joy and healing during the many unexpected challenges that my family faced this year. I found myself being drawn to water during these times and feeling the release of these burdens as I watched the waves crash against the shore. I began taking photos for reference, focusing on finding a new perspective not only in the physical space, but also mentally. Each painting reflects the change that I felt when looking at the water from a different point of view through the use of watercolor, burning and gold leaf. This not only created a unique take on sunsets but also helped me release those troubles while connecting to the light and nature.

I am a contemporary pyrography and watercolor artist living in Owatonna, MN with my husband and two daughters. My studio is based in our home, and I create during naptime and in the evenings. Much of my inspiration comes from nature, especially in the Minnesota area. I find joy and healing in creating paintings that seek God in the beauty of His creation.
