The Way is a scenic landscape painting that incorporates pyrography and watercolor to compliment the wood grain of the panel. This piece has texture and movement that flows through the piece to draw you into the light. The brushstrokes convey a sense of rushing movement while the trees ground you in a calm sense of peace all at the same time. The landscape is inspired by a back road called the “Old Grade” in Whipholt, MN. The quiet beauty of being among the trees in this area is incredible. One of my favorite memories from up north is riding down these back roads with the four-wheeler and taking moments to stop and appreciate the nature that surrounds us.
